You CAN Change the World

I recently got an unexpected letter from a colleague. He was thanking me and let me know that it was my encouragement – my words – that propelled him to take the next step with his business. He is now kicking some major butt in his part of the business world.
Mic drop! Ha. I am definitely not taking credit for his success, but read on and you will see my point.
I thought back to our conversation about a year and a half ago and I don’t remember saying anything profound, I just offered encouragement and shared some things that I had been afraid of and conquered when I first got here to San Antonio. To me, I was just sharing my honest opinion about what I thought his abilities were. We talked about keeping God in the middle of everything he did. I told him that I saw him being the biggest and best at what he did because his vision was to truly help others versus just doing it to make a lot of money. To him though, my advice and listening ear was what helped him keep going.
Side note – when making money is your only motivation, I believe that your “success” will be short lived. Love what you do and if you happen to be able to make a lot of money doing it, it is a perk.
So that got me thinking about how powerful our words are…the words we tell ourselves and the words we speak to others. You might not think that you can make a difference in someone’s life, but let me assure you, you already do.
So which words will you choose?

Thank you so much for reading today. I hope that I made you smile and think a little bit. To reach me, visit
