On Aging…as I Edge Closer to 50

As I approach my 48th year of life, I’m learning to accept, embrace and appreciate the beauty of aging a little better. Now don’t get me wrong, I haven’t FULLY accepted it yet! It is a work in progress.

It got me to thinking today…what are some of the benefits of growing older?

With each passing year comes a deeper understanding of who I am and all that life has to offer. In embracing my imperfections, I gain more self-love and appreciation for my unique qualities.

The wisdom gained through countless experiences is also an invaluable gift – mistakes have taught me many lessons about how best to approach new challenges in life.

To truly age gracefully, I believe it’s important not only to embrace age but also celebrate it as something beautiful in its own right – something that should be celebrated instead of feared or dreaded!

Now, that is not to say that I’m going to “let myself go.” Another important part of the process is making sure you take care of yourself along the way. Exercise. Eat right. Self-care.

I’m still going to get Botox though…. For a little while at least.

It’s just accepting that I have loose skin, wrinkles, and more gray hair popping up in more places I care to think about.
